Now What?

Hallelujah, He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!… Now what?

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.” – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (Paul)

Hallelujah, He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!… Now what?

Once Jesus has been resurrected… conquering sin, death and the grave, the obvious next question is: now what?

The first followers of Jesus had this same question. As they were grieving Jesus’s death on the cross, they also experienced the gamut of emotions upon hearing that Jesus was no longer in the grave. Some were afraid, some doubted, some were filled with great joy but all had the same question: now what?

The words of Jesus to his followers after the resurrection answer this question. These words have been directing the church to be the church from the very beginning. These words overwhelm our fears and doubts and commission us as Christ’s followers to Go Bold!

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20 (Jesus)

“Go into all the word and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” – Mark 16:15 (Jesus)

“Thus it is written, that Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.” – Luke 24:46-47 (Jesus)

“Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” – John 20:21 (Jesus)

Now what? We Go Bold.  We go and make disciples by demonstrating the gospel and proclaiming the good news of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins. We Go Bold as sent out ones by our Savior. “For God so loved the world that he sent His Son” and now he sends us, as His missionaries to take this amazing news of Jesus’s love for us to our world.

Now what? Go Bold!
